Very solid piece of furniture! The box was a little beat up, but the furniture was so securely packed that there was no chance it would be damaged (the packaging itself probably weighed 20 lbs!). I ordered it at 11:30pm on Wednesday and it was delivered by midday that Friday--awesome! My husband assembled it by himself one evening. He just needed my help standing it upright at the end. These bookcases are absolutely THE BOMB. Downsizing our home has been incredibly stressful and making room for my books and dedicated library has not been fun. I was really wary ordering these, but the ladder configuration is genius ( lots of room for bigger books in the bottom) The big surprise is the wonderful drawers which are equipped for file folders. Gorgeous piece! Extremely happy with the quality of this bookshelf. The wood and design is beautiful and sturdy. Aside from the legs, the piece was fully assembled and packaged well. My only critique is the depth of the bookshelf. It seems a little unnecessary for it to be so deep for books but I still gave it 5 stars because we didn't analyze the depth before purchasing like we did the height and width. For anyone wondering, the shelves fit standard records perfectly (except the top shelf) so we may use it for our records in the future. I bought this in the acorn finish. It arrived quickly and was very securely packaged. I was able to put it together myself, although I'm an "old pro" at furniture assembly and you might need two people. The wood looks kind of "pieced together" in places and I wish the screws on the sides had covers for a more finished appearance. However, that being said, I am still very pleased.
