The bed is definitely darker than pictures as someone else had mentioned, but it’s beautiful! Feels like a sturdy long-lasting piece of furniture! There is a gap between the mattress and edge of the bed (all around) maybe a couple inches. But once the blankets were all on and tucked into the sides it wasn’t really noticeable, except towards the headboard where the blanket isn’t tucked in. But it doesn’t really bother me as much as it did in the beginning! My husband basically built it himself and it only took about an hour at most! This bed is beautiful! The quality of the wood is beyond SPECTACULAR! Perfect for our mid-century modern Scandinavian farmhouse vibe. I'd say that the color is slightly different (a bit more dark brown). Delivery was also AMAZING. They even called to say they were a half hour away. My only complaint would be that the nuts and bolts look EXTREMELY similar - a hair of a difference on the washers & screws. The dimensions from floor to bed are inaccurate from the product description. The bed slats are too far apart to adequately support any high-end memory foam mattress like Casper or Purple. I had to add 11 extra slats to achieve proper support for the mattress. There is very little real wood on this bed which explains the low price. Still a pretty bed. Bed is somewhat easy to assemble.
