These stools are perfect! Straight lines, wonderfully comfy seat, easy to wipe clean, light weight, bar for foot rest. I’ve ordered around 15 barstools til I found these, which worked perfectly for me. I have an island where I place barstools on both sides. So I wanted stools with a back, but also wanted to be able to push the stool under the lip of table so I could still do food prep on side of island by the kitchen counters. These worked!! I ordered 3 colors. The charcoal , honey, and the darker brown (forgot the name). The honey was just a tad too orange when placed with my wooden island. But loved that color, and would have been great with a white Island/bar/countertop. My island uses 4 stools on each side. And I thought black would actually look the best. So as a DIY I purchased Angelus leather preparer & then Angelus black acrylic leather paint and did a tester on 2 stools! What’s $125 for a set of 2 stools if they didn’t work. But it worked perfectly! I’m undecided at this time but most likely plan on painting them all black. Gorgeous stools. Hard to tell in the photos but I purchased the dark brown cushions. They're very comfortale and fit perfectly underneath my counter height island. A bit finicky to assemble - just be sure to not fully tighten any of the screws until all pieces (pre-assembled seat w/back,+foot rest+two leg pairs) are all loosely assembled. Don't even fully finger tighten anything. Once everything is attached but still wiggly then you can tighten everything down. I love these bar stools for their quality, build, and overall mid-century design (I ordered the Black version with dark walnut legs). Since I am in an apartment and have wood floors, I purchased felt Felt Furniture Pads to avoid scratches. The construction was a bit confusing, and unfortunately, the assembly diagram didnt help as I believe they mismatched the large and small screws. I recommend assembling them with one other person or using a table to place the seats comfortably to screw on the legs. Finally, the only reason why Im rating this a 45 instead of a perfect 5 is that I ran into issues with some of the black seats containing some permanent white scarring (see images). When I contacted customer service to request a new seat, they kindly sent me an entire set, which was excellent, but unfortunately, one of the two seats came with the same non-removable white marking, again! In other words, be wary of ordering the black version or a color that may make the white scruff apparent. Overall, I would still highly recommend if it’s in your budget!. Idriss. We purchased 2 sets of these for our part-time villa in Arizona. My husband is a "check-the-box" kind of guy. So, when putting these together, he definitely STRUGGLED. They did not go together smoothly. After assembling 1 - we considered returning them. He kept going...Once assembled, the look, comfort and purpose outweighed the cumbersome effort to assemble. I'm sitting in one for the first time while writing this review. There is not much support on the lower back, but otherwise, the upper back support is firm. The stool feels solid. The material looks nice and modern. We would not purchase again based on the assembly process. 1 of the 4 stool backs appears higher than the other 3, which is annoying and probably has something to do with the poor assembly.
