These bookcases are absolutely THE BOMB. Downsizing our home has been incredibly stressful and making room for my books and dedicated library has not been fun. I was really wary ordering these, but the ladder configuration is genius ( lots of room for bigger books in the bottom) The big surprise is the wonderful drawers which are equipped for file folders. They fit beautifully and close correctly. I am absolutely smitten with these cases - the finish is great, the color is perfect for us - just a number 10 purchase all the way. I bought this in the acorn finish. It arrived quickly and was very securely packaged. I was able to put it together myself, although I'm an "old pro" at furniture assembly and you might need two people. The wood looks kind of "pieced together" in places and I wish the screws on the sides had covers for a more finished appearance. However, that being said, I am still very pleased.
