The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that the mattress springs are black. Meaning until you use this as a toddler bed, you need a bed skirt to cover it. Definitely should be white. When you screw the screws for the sides into the top, the screws are a little too long and can cause the melamine top to actually slightly crack or raise in that spot. My husband put the piece together and is a 40 year career finished carpenter and actually had to snip a tiny bit of each screw off to shorten to avoid pushing up on the melamine top.
